Quick Answer: Why Is the Nail Gun S-Tier?
The Nail Gun is the primary construction tool in Dumb Ways to Build. It creates fixed joints between planks instantly, and every stable structure in the game starts with nailed joints. Without the Nail Gun, your planks slide, tumble and collapse. With it, you can build a stable bridge in seconds.
How the Nail Gun Works
Fire the Nail Gun at the intersection of two planks to create a fixed joint. The joint holds until enough force breaks it โ in Normal Jobs, nailed joints are effectively permanent. In Crisis Jobs, sustained hazard pressure can break joints, so double-nailing critical points is worth the extra ammo.
- Single-tap for a standard joint
- Double-tap for reinforced joints (Crisis and Master Builder)
- Aim at the intersection point, not the plank center
Nail Gun vs Every Situation

|---|---|---|
| Normal bridge building | S-Tier | Essential โ no alternative |
| Crisis debris clearing | B-Tier | Use Sledgehammer instead |
| Master Builder speed runs | S-Tier | Speed is everything; Nail Gun is fastest |
| Co-op building | S-Tier | One Nail Gun player = team anchor |
